The impetus to improved document and records management in the public sector has received new momentum with a BEE deal between two of the foremost SAP Africa partners.
Engineering Informatics (EI) and Nokusa have concluded a deal whereby Nokusa acquires an initial 28.5% share in the business of EI, with an option to increase the shareholding over the next three years.
This match brings together two significantly successful SAP Africa partners, evidenced at a recent SAP Africa Partner Service Excellence Awards function where EI was the winner of the SAP Service Partner category, and Nokusa the winner of the SAP BEE Partner category.
Nokusa will play an active part in building the business both at operational and board level, and to reflect the significant investment that Nokusa is making, EI`s name has changed to NokusaEI and Mandla Madi has been appointed non-executive chairman of NokusaEI.
Abie Spies, MD of NokusaEI, states: "This deal is far more than a BEE deal - it is a deal based on sound business principles as the shareholders will all contribute significant value to NokusaEI."
This is further borne out by the fact that the deal does not only involve the South African business of EI, but also includes the significant international business of EI.
NokusaEI will build on the noteworthy reputation of Engineering Informatics as one of the foremost enterprise content management (ECM) consultancies, not only in South Africa, but worldwide. The company consults to many leading blue-chip companies in product-independent ECM, document and records management strategies. As an SAP partner, the company also has a significant track record of implementing SAP ECM functionality in more than 50 clients in South Africa and abroad.
NokusaEI is active in all industrial sectors (including the public sector) and in more than 10 countries internationally, spread from North America, through Europe and the Middle East to Australasia.
