Offering 6GB built-in storage, the Nomad Jukebox is the latest multi-format portable audio player/recorder available mid July from Multimedia Warehouse, a division of the SILTEK IT Supply Chain Group.
"Creative's announcement of its Nomad Jukebox is proof that the evolution of MP3 portables has altered. This new lightweight digital audio player, the size and shape of an ordinary CD disk player, can hold an entire music collection (over 150 albums) or up to 2600 hours of spoken word. Users can merge their entire collection of LPs and CDs in one compact and portable device," says David Sharples, product manager at Multimedia Warehouse.
The Nomad Jukebox uses Universal Serial Bus (USB) to transfer files into and out of the unit, and includes an analogue to digital converter for recording from external sources, and dual line-out connections for connecting a four-speaker system.
The Nomad Jukebox also offers an onboard real-time digital signal processor (DSP) for superior audio playback and customisation, and the Headphone-Out jack supports headphone spatialisation and equaliser effects.
"This SDMI-capable portable digital audio player supports multiple formats including .MP3, .WMA and .WAV file formats. And, unlike other hardware-based solutions, the Nomad Jukebox also features an onboard real-time effects processor for superior audio playback and customisation.
"What makes the Nomad Jukebox even more attractive is that it has a memory buffer for up to 5 minutes of shock protection, and the operating system is upgradable via the Internet so the unit can support other digital formats in future," says Sharples.
The Nomad Jukebox supports downloadable features, including new effects algorithms, security features, and auto playlist generators available at www.nomadworld.com.
