Dimension Data South Africa was last week awarded the Nortel EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) 2004 Breakthrough Partner Award at an event held in Berlin.
Dimension Data South Africa is the first African channel partner to receive the accolade competing against more than 600 EMEA channel partners for the award.
Dimension Data was presented the award in recognition of the implementation of an Internet Protocol telephony (IPT) solution at the South African Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in 2004. At the time, it was the largest IPT implementation in the EMEA region, with over 2 800 IP telephones installed.

The Breakthrough Partner Award duly recognises them for the secure, robust and cost-effective converged solution delivered to the DTI," says Anton Buys du Plessis, channel director, Nortel.

The award is presented to Nortel partners who have made significant inroads into the delivery of new technologies by leveraging Nortel`s products and services to penetrate new markets and create new business opportunities.
