Nortel Networks achieved the number one position in global WAN switching, including the top spot in the fast-growing service provider segment, for the fourth quarter of 2000, according to recent report from Cahners In-Stat, Synergy Research Group and the Dell`Oro Group.
Nortel Networks Passport multiservice WAN switchers led in all categories tracked by Cahners In-Stat, including multiservice, ATM and frame relay for service providers and enterprise.
"Passport`s solutions focus presents a winning value proposition to our customers, offering the ability to extend the core attributes of a traditional multiservice switch and provide wireless, voice and access solutions to customer networks worldwide," says Malcolm Bayes, VP Nortel Networks sub Saharan Africa.
