Symantec today announced that Norton AntiVirus has received its ninth VB 100% award from Virus Bulletin. This most recent recognition singles out Norton AntiVirus as the only anti-virus solution to receive the VB 100% award twice in each OS category tested-Microsoft Windows 98, Windows NT, DOS, and Novell NetWare.
"Receiving a ninth VB 100% award secures Norton AntiVirus' leadership position as the industry's most powerful and reliable anti-virus solution available today," said Jako Voges, Marketing Manager Africa and Middle East.
"As the virus threat is continually changing, you should look for products that have garnered a string of VB 100% awards, rather than just managed to capture one or two," advises the latest Virus Bulletin.
Virus Bulletin tests are widely recognized within the industry. The VB 100% award is given to products that detect 100 percent of all "In the Wild" viruses, as tracked by the WildList Organization, during extensive Virus Bulletin testing. The viruses on the WildList Organization's lists are acknowledged as causing real-world virus incidents and of doing so in more than just one or two isolated places. As evidenced by its long string of VB 100% awards, Norton AntiVirus has consistently earned high marks.
