BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3.5, a new release from Novell, is the easiest way to seamlessly deploy firewall, virtual private networking, caching and strong authentication services within your network, says Michael Watts, Novell product manager at distributor Workgroup agrees.
BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3.5 is a security management suite comprising the following components: BorderManager Firewall Services 3.5, BorderManager VPN Services 3.5 and BorderManager Authentication Services 3.5.
These services are available together in the suite, but can also be sold separately if desired.
"Novell BorderManager Enterprise Edition is a high-performance Internet security management suite for businesses that leverage the power of Novell Directory Services," Watts says.
"And since BorderManager Enterprise Edition is integrated with Novell Directory Services, you can manage the entire suite of services from a single, centralised administration console."

BorderManager Caching Services (previously offered separately as BorderManager FastCache Services) is now available as an integrated part of BorderManager Firewall Services 3.5 or as an underlying service provided by BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3.5 software.
"With the release of BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3.5, Novell has added support for strong authentication across the each of the components of the suite. It has partnered with ActivCard to offer a Novell/ActivCard-branded token to insure the highest level of security authentication for customers," he explains.
