Novell has announced CLA 4.0, the latest version of its Corporate Licence Agreement (CLA), which is specifically geared to making the administration and selling of CLAs even easier.
While the main features of the CLA programme remain relatively unchanged, Novell SA licensing specialist Recia Latief says.
"The membership form, forecast and site worksheet have been incorporated into one, easy-to-use document, which is now available online," she explains. "Additionally, application forms (for subsidiaries and affiliates to join an existing CLA), CLA site licence worksheets and self-audit forms are also available on the Web at http://www.novell.com/licensing/cla. A new workstation definition for CLA site licences is also available online.
According to Latief, CLA 4.0 became available to all new CLA customers from 1 May 2001, and to all existing CLA customers who are renewing their contracts from 1 July 2001. "CLA 4.0 customers will be easily identified by their C4 prefixed membership numbers," she adds.
"The CLA is designed for medium to large organizations and is available through CLA resellers. The CLA offers benefits such as discounted pricing, worldwide availability, purchase forecasting, upgrade protection, site licensing and technical support," Latief concludes.
