Novell South Africa has come out in favour of Comztek`s recent purchase of networking company LAN Design.
"We regard the acquisition as a positive move by Comztek, which will serve to strengthen our partnership with the company and ensure a good business relationship going forward," says Novell distribution manager, Hanli Wood.
She echoes Comztek MD Paul Conradie`s statement that consolidation in the distribution market will enable greater economies of scale to be achieved, the benefits of which will be passed directly on to the reseller.
"Together, Comztek and LAN Design can present the reseller market with an unrivalled offering, with Comztek`s technical support and back-up service enhancing LAN Design`s software brands and expertise," says Conradie. "Although Comztek has always been strong in the networking arena, LAN Design`s loyal reseller base with its strong SME presence will definitely strengthen our position. In turn, LAN Design resellers are now able to offer their clients Comztek`s service value-adds, allowing them to move higher up in the supply chain."
Novell product manager at Comztek, Di Room says: "The LAN Design Novell infrastructure has been easily integrated into Comztek`s operations. All staff and stock have been successfully relocated to Comztek`s Midrand offices, and it`s all systems go for business as usual."
"Novell can look forward to a profitable association with Comztek," she concludes.
