Novell today announced it is previewing enhancements to its flagship security and identity management solutions, Sentinel 6 and Identity Manager 3.5, at the RSA Conference in San Francisco.
Demonstrating Novell's innovation and market leadership, these product-releases will showcase new features and enhanced capabilities to help customers ensure security and compliance. When deployed together, the products deliver the industry's most complete identity and security management solution for supporting compliance and IT governance initiatives.
"Today's dynamic IT environments require advanced security and real-time monitoring features," said Kent Erickson, VP and GM, identity and security management, Novell.
"With these significant new releases, Novell continues to lead the market, delivering state-of-the-art solutions to help customers secure and manage their IT infrastructure and support regulatory compliance."
Sentinel 6, Novell's award-winning security information and event management solution, focuses on new capabilities in correlation, incident management workflow and its data connectivity framework. With Sentinel 6, Novell is extending its localised language support to nine, with the addition of Chinese traditional, Chinese simplified and Japanese, and adding platform support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, Solaris 10 and Oracle 10.
For customers of Novell Audit, Novell's audit and logging facility, this release of Sentinel delivers a clear upgrade opportunity for customers that require an enterprise-wide security and compliance solution.
Novell Identity Manager 3.5 is a significant update to Novell's award-winning flagship user-provisioning and meta-directory solution. To facilitate regulatory compliance, Novell Identity Manager 3.5 features additional support for role management to ensure separation of duties and simplify attestation.
In addition, Novell continues to focus on innovations designed to make the deployment process faster, more repeatable and more predictable. Novell Identity Manager 3.5 also features advanced integration with Novell's access management solutions, Novell Access Manager and SecureLogin, so users are simultaneously provisioned a user account and single sign-on to target systems.
Together, Sentinel 6 and Identity Manager 3.5 deliver enhanced operational efficiencies and help ease the burden of proving compliance to regulations, by automating the provisioning, collection, monitoring, analysis, response and reporting activities.
Convergence of these functionalities is a valuable addition to an IT security program with a broad spectrum of systems and people to monitor and critical assets to protect.
