Novell South Africa has re-affirmed the Business Expert status of infrastructure company, Datacentrix. As one of Novell`s established channel partners, Datacentrix has complied with Novell`s criteria for technical and sales expertise, as well as over-achieving sales targets.
"The South African corporate market is moving firmly into the domain of the mobile, e-enabled user," says Datacentrix director, Klaas Lammers. "Directory services, GroupWare, remote management and user support software are areas that Novell products address highly successfully, and we are increasingly using Novell as part of hybrid infrastructure solutions."
Lammers says that Datacentrix, as a company specialising in infrastructure implementation, will use Novell particularly in the area of user management. "The mobile workforce presents one of the biggest challenges to a corporate in terms of maintaining its network and managing users.
While a certain level of functionality is built into the network operating system, Novell`s directory has management functions that can be applied across the enterprise, while still offering a choice of operating systems. Novell gives companies the tools to do e-business." A Novell Business Expert (BE) is the highest level of Novell reseller within the company`s Novell Partnernet programme.
"To qualify for the BE status, a reseller must be focused on providing Novell solutions and have very high levels of Novell technical (Certified Novell Engineers and Master Certified Novell Engineers) and sales skills (Certified Novell Sales Professionals) within their organisation," explains Novell distribution manager, Hanli Wood. "Additionally, each BE undergoes intensive training on Novell`s licensing programmes to enable them to recommend the correct solution for their customers. BEs are also continually evaluated to ensure that their skills levels are maintained."
A Novell Business Expert enjoys direct support from Novell Technical Services (NTS), enabling them to offer their customers a high level of technical support and value-added services.
