Novell has announced the availability of ManageWise 2.7, the latest version of its cost-saving network management software. ManageWise helps organisations proactively monitor and manage cross-platform networks from a single location.
In this ManageWise release, Pure IP segments and networks are supported natively, eliminating the need for NetWare`s IPX compatibility mode. This greatly speeds up server management functions, while also streamlining the administrator`s management process. Network administrators will be better able to manage their rapidly growing IP network, as well as manage mixed protocol environments and mixed NT and NetWare networks.
Other enhancements in ManageWise 2.7 include agents for managing all NetWare and NT servers. McAfee VirusScan and NetShield are also included in the box, with a six-month update subscription. Extended subscriptions may also be purchased from Novell.

ManageWise 2.7 is based on industry network management standards and monitors and manages alarms for Novell`s NDS eDirectory, allowing businesses with growing or changing networks to simplify and automate cross-platform network management.
ManageWise continues to offer businesses the management tools they need to effectively control and monitor their networks and servers:
Network Protection Management -- ManageWise 2.7 proactively tracks the health of the network and alerts network administrators of potential problems before they disrupt user productivity.
Performance Management -- ManageWise 2.7 also tracks server and network efficiency and provides performance trends and analysis for use in network growth and change planning.
Remote Management -- ManageWise 2.7 is a server-based management solution that enables network administrators to inventory, view and manage the network from a single point of administration, allowing IT professionals to diagnose and resolve problems from any location.
