NSS first SA company with ITIL control and release practitioners accreditation

Johannesburg, 04 Aug 2005

Information technology service management solutions specialist NSS is officially the first South African company to achieve Exin accreditation for ITIL control and release management, which encompasses configuration management, for the practitioner`s course.

ITIL - IT Infrastructure Library - is regarded globally as the only consistent and comprehensive best practice for IT service management. Trademarked by the British Office of Government Commerce, its goal is the development of a vendor-independent approach for service management. At ITIL`s core is a corporate and enterprise recognition of increased dependence on IT, which has to be managed by high-quality IT services. "We`ve put a huge amount of effort into achieving this significant milestone," said CEO Lynda Odendaal. "This accreditation comes on the heels of another triumph for NSS` training division which was recently granted accreditation by Exin for our ITIL managers course.

Odendaal explained that the ITIL manager certificate is awarded to candidates who are experienced and capable of applying the ITIL principles to any organisation. The programme provides successful graduates with relevant knowledge and skills to successfully implement any of the IT service management discipline as described in the ITIL best practices guidelines.

"As corporate SA is all too aware, ITIL certification has become a baseline for new hires entering the IT service deliver and support environments. We`re delighted to be able to bring both the theoretical and practical understanding to our customers, and their employees to assist them achieve their stated business and IT service management alignment goals."
