NSS seminar will demystify best practice

Best Practice in IT is a subject that most enterprises know of but few truly understand.
Johannesburg, 02 Jun 2004

NSS Consulting will host a breakfast seminar at the Rosebank Hyatt Hotel on June 22 at which a series of industry experts will demystify the subject, outlining proven Best Practice in IT Governance and Service Management - and clearing a path to unlocking those mysteries.

"The issue," says NSS Consulting director Lynda Odendaal, "is that IT Governance and Service Management is a corporate issue which is growing more important - and more complex - almost daily, with frameworks, methodologies, metrics and standards all now necessary Best Practice requirements.

"With South Africa`s internationally high profile - and with the world`s eye on this country following the awarding of the 2010 Soccer World Cup - there is now an even greater need to demystify Best Practice and allow enterprise in this country to be of an international quality the equal of the 2010 bid."

Introductory guest speaker will be Deshi Baktawer - the legendary South African footballer-turned commentator who will be involved in the World Cup 2010 effort.

Baktawer is currently driving training and job creation opportunities for former Bafana Bafana stars.

Odendaal says there is a clear need for objectives-driven deployment of efficient, effective solutions and the demonstration that those solutions are relevant and have appropriate value.

"You`ll know the names of these detailed guidelines: ITIL,CMM and CobiT are but a few. Best Practice defines how organisations will use the optimal approach to demystifying the defensive wall of solutions before them," Odendaal says.

Keynote speakers at the seminar include: Lynda Odendaal - Why IT Best Practices?; Alan Kirsten - Service Management; Alfred Seala - IT Governance and; Marius Prinsloo - SANS 7799.

Odendaal has asked that anyone keen on attending can call NSS on (011) 519-8600 or log on to www.nss.co.za to register online.
