NTT rolls out enterprise services

and business continuity services including cloud backup, archiving and compliance, to meet the strict requirements of enterprises, reports The Web Host Industry Review.

According to the Telecom Paper, NTT America's data protection services enable customers of all sizes to have access to the technologies and processes available to large IT firms.

The new cloud backup and cloud archiving services are billed based on the customer's usage. Powered by Asigra, NTT America Cloud Backup is an agent-less architecture that continuously backs-up a business' data to the NTT America data centre.

The reduplication feature checks that only new data is added to the backup system making the entire process less resource-intensive on both the hardware and network.

The virtual disaster recovery and application restoration aspects of the system check that data and applications can be recovered in the event of a disaster.

TMCnet reports that the new status enables NTT America to extend its suite of private cloud services beyond its data centres to support hybrid cloud needs.

“The VMware vCloud Powered program was developed to enable our service provider partners to differentiate themselves,” says Don Schleicher, VP of service providers at VMware.

“We look forward to supporting NTT Communications further as it delivers on the agility and performance customers are looking for in the cloud computing landscape.”
