Numara Software SA releases Track-It! 8

Cape Town, 02 May 2007

Numara Software South Africa has launched Track-It! 8, the next generation of the world`s most widely installed IT helpdesk and asset management solution, in use at 50 000 customer sites globally.

Numara Track-It! 8 increases the levels of usability, personalisation and productivity offered by previous versions of the software. New features include a redesigned, Microsoft Outlook-like user interface that makes the product even easier to use, a customisable management dashboard with real-time updates to monitor key performance indicators and a smart client, providing the same rich user experience whether running over a LAN or a WAN.

The managing director of Numara Software South Africa, Mark Saacks, says Track-It! 8 is the most significant new version of this software. "Market feedback from other countries has been overwhelmingly positive and we`re confident that interest levels will continue to rise here once it`s available to the market. From a user perspective, the new features are valuable as an individual can now personalise views, templates and reports, making navigation easier, while connections and searches run faster. Overall, these enhancements will improve levels of productivity, which is good news for any business," explained Saacks.

Director, International (EMEA and APAC) at Numara Software, Andy White, says the company`s launch of Track-It! 8 in South Africa is key to establishing a worldwide presence. "Our international strategy involves our business opening regional offices in key territories throughout the rest of 2007, and the Numara team here in South Africa, headed by Mark Saacks, will deliver comprehensive support, presales and consulting as well as a full sales and marketing capability in the region."

Numara Track-It! was originally designed to be the easiest solution to learn and use. The milestone release of version 8 introduces the concept of personalisation with many new features created to suit the way you work.

It now offers customisable asset templates to track the hardware attributes required for an environment, and with just a few clicks, easy-to-use, flexible work order templates can be created to address common, duplicable tasks such as password reset and the processing of new hires. Users can also customise business rules for notification and escalation of customer requests, as well as establishing service level agreements and skills-based-routing.

David Coyle, Researcher at Gartner, states: "Adaptable and concise reporting remain a top concern for IT service desk management. Customisable dashboards that provide aggregated reports give IT management the information they need to make judicious decisions that help lower costs and increase business satisfaction."
