nVisionIT shares in Microsoft`s vision

Johannesburg, 05 Dec 2005

nVisionIT, a Microsoft gold partner, is known for its development of cutting-edge solutions on the Microsoft platform. Through this strategic partnership, nVisionIT gains access to new technologies developed by Microsoft before they reach the market.

This was again the case when nVisionIT was afforded a sneak preview of the new Microsoft releases at the vendor`s EMEA Developer Tools Channel Summit and Global MVP Summit earlier this year.

Mncedisi Mayekiso, Executive Director of Enterprise Connection and nVisionIT, was invited in his capacity to attend the Microsoft EMEA Developer Tools Channel Summit in Greece in October 2005. Of the opportunity, Mayekiso noted: "This was an excellent opportunity to meet other partners in Europe and the Middle East and share some ideas on future technology trends."

Commenting on the advanced use of emerging technologies, Danny Naidoo, developer and platform Group Director at Microsoft South Africa, says: "We have a local market that is on par with the likes of India, the United States, United Kingdom and Australia in terms of Microsoft Developer Tool adoption rates and we remain excited about the inroads that partners like nVisionIT continue to make in this market."

In existence for more than 11 years, Microsoft`s Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Programme recognises individuals with advanced expertise in one or more of Microsoft`s products. These individuals actively participate and share their knowledge and expertise in online and offline communities; Microsoft formally acknowledges these accomplishments through the MVP Programme.

nVisionIT, renowned for the delivery of innovative solutions using Microsoft technologies, was represented by Ernst Kuschke, a C# MVP, at the summit held in the US during September.

The MVP summit also provided the opportunity to network with domain knowledge experts such as Don Box, Anders Hejlsberg and Steven Ballmer, who presented on such topics of XML, Windows Workflow, C# and even Xbox, and how these would impact on the future of technology.

At the summit, MVPs experienced the next generation of Microsoft technologies, including Visual Studio (codenamed Orcas), LINQ (Language Integrated Query) and Windows Vista, also known as Longhorn.

"These products will provide a range of tools and many new benefits for software development teams and their clients, by decreasing delivery timeframes and enabling more reliable software," notes Kuschke.

Visual Studio 2005, launching this November, offers a suite of productivity improvements to deftly deal with the development of Windows, Web, Office and mobile solutions, while serving a wider audience of roles and skill-sets.

The next big challenge faced in programming technology, as identified by Microsoft, is to reduce the complexity of dealing with information like relational data and XML, which can`t be dealt with naturally from within the object-oriented (OO) world. Microsoft is providing the solution in LINQ which enables developers to query the relational and XML worlds inherently from OO programming languages like C# or Visual Basic. This technology is scheduled to be launched during 2007.

With heavy reliance on the Windows PC to manage all aspects of modern living, new tools are constantly necessary to help cut through the clutter in order to focus on what is important.

Windows Vista is a tool designed to enable users to get the most out of the PC. It introduces new ways of organising lives, including revolutionary changes to the Windows user interface.

Graham van Zijl, managing director of nVisionIT, notes: "The release of SQL Server 2005, BizTalk 2006 and the new .Net development environment, together with the Office 12 System, provide exciting opportunities for a company of our profile to create further business benefits for our customers. Our investment in these products and technologies is seen as key to the sustainable growth of the company."
