O2 offers SME broadband packages

provider O2 has unveiled a new range of business packages geared at small and medium enterprises (SMEs), reports Top 10.com.

The fixed broadband deals - which offer a £5 per month discount for existing O2 subscribers - give UK companies the opportunity to improve their Web services.

O2 has unveiled three broadband tariffs, two of which take advantage of local loop unbundling (LLU) technology.

O2 Home Office LLU provides download speeds of up to 20Mb, uploads of 1.3Mb, a 150GB usage allowance and a free wireless broadband router.

The new SME business packages come in two varieties and offer differing connection speeds and security, the company said, reveals Silicon.com.

Both packages feature up to 10 free McAfee software licences for extra security protection, 24/7 free technical support and free connection from an existing supplier, according to V3.co.uk.

In addition, a Fast Fix service for an extra £10 a month provides a speedier way to resolve any downtime issues, including the provision of replacement dongles if the service fails, said O2.

“We understand just how vital Internet access is to our customers in terms of managing their day-to-day operations. We also know the pressure they're under to cut costs, save time and improve efficiency,” said Simon Devonshire, GM of O2's Small and Medium Business division.
