Oakwell today announced the release of Mobilo Server 5.0. The latest release of this acclaimed mobile application platform builds on over three years of learning in real-world deployments of the product, and provides partners and corporate developers a powerful and flexible mobility platform to deploy mobile applications to meet their current and future needs.
Oakwell also revealed that a software-as-a-service version, MobiloLIVE, is due for release in 2008.
Mobilo 5.0 contains preconfigured Mobilo mApps, which are installed onto your Windows Mobile devices and handle the data collection and specific workflows for mobile job-cards and mobile timesheets.
They enable field workers to access and continually update their timesheet or job-card status, and keep records of all jobs that are completed. Preconfigured Mobilo mApps ensure that deployments can be up and running and generating value in the shortest timeframe.
Mobilo mApps are also customisable through Mobilo Designer and can be tailored to the business` unique needs. Using standard adapters and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, these applications can be connected to existing back-end systems.
The solution is aimed at market segments where the customer service and support workforce are deployed in the field. It assists these resources who are vital to the business to remain productive and more efficient, resulting in higher profit margins for the enterprise, boosting employee productivity, increasing responsiveness and accuracy.
Workforce mobility is the key area of opportunity for businesses looking to meet these demands. A workforce that has the ability to continuously stay in contact and has access to the organisation`s systems and information anywhere, anytime and on any device, is one that is empowered to deliver exceptional results.
"Companies are looking to mobile solutions beyond e-mail as the next level of maturity in mobility arrives. These solutions help to accelerate business cycles, increase productivity, reduce operating costs and extend investments in their business systems and applications," said Roy Hobson, Managing Director of Oakwell.
"Through Mobilo, Oakwell continues to provide a single platform that manages the complexity associated with mobile applications, from security through to connectivity, allowing companies to focus on crafting powerful mobile applications."
