ObjectTeam for Linux meets with flood of interest

Johannesburg, 16 Sep 1998

Cayenne Software has announced that ObjectTeam for Linux, Professional Edition, will be available before the end of September. The release date has been set based on positive feedback during the first week of beta testing, and on the overwhelming demand for the product.

Cayenne products are represented in South Africa by Software Futures, a subsidiary of Computer Congifurations Holdings.

ObjectTeam for Linux will be available over the Web with a list price of $195. It is a single-user, single-diagram version of the full-featured ObjectTeam product currently available on NT and Unix platforms.

ObjectTeam for Linux will be licensed for commercial use and will be a maintained product, with frequent updates. The Personal Edition will continue to be available at no charge on the company`s Web site.

Online technical support for either product will also be available, and will be $49 for the first month.

Following the unveiling of the beta release of ObjectTeam for Linux - Personal Edition on August 10, the company`s Website has been inundated by interested visitors. In its first week, there have been thousands of requests for the software, and the Website has serviced almost 3 000 product downloads.

"We were caught off guard by this enthusiasm," says Michael Jannery, VP of marketing for Cayenne. "The single-day and single-week activity on our Website has broken all records for the number of visits, unique visitors, new visitors, and downloads. As a result, we have increased our network bandwidth to accommodate this new level of Web activity."

The third member of the ObjectTeam for Linux, Enterprise Edition, will be a full version of ObjectTeam, including all UML diagrams, and is expected to be released before year-end.
