A revolutionary, high-speed inkjet printing system capable of producing up to 200 metres per minute and 600 dpi resolution to produce high quality CMYK full-process colour has been introduced to the local market by Oc'e South Africa.
The Oc'e JetStream series of inkjet printing systems utilises groundbreaking DigiDot technology - the latest innovation in drop-on-demand colour inkjet printing, which offers users unprecedented ease-of-use and smooth integration into existing industry-standard workflows.
Oc'e National Product Manager of Digital Document Solutions, Anthony Jones, explains: "DigiDot technology uses piezoelectric, built on the industry's fastest drop-on-demand inkjet print heads, which jet-drops the ink only when it's needed. DigiDot technology also has the ability to vary dot sizes, which enables users to create images with different density ranges to optimise quality levels for individual jobs and media types."
Jones notes that flexibility to vary dot sizes also enables the multi-level printing of photographs and halftones that require richer greyscales, contour-free gradients and better reproduction of fine details. "The smaller dot size results in a lower drying temperature that consumes less energy and reduces paper distortion, to deliver higher quality output. The result is truly exceptional quality in record time - every time," he explains.
The Oc'e range of JetStream printers deliver top-quality output with an industry-leading standard resolution of up to 600x600 dpi. This resolution sets a new benchmark for quality at an output speed of up to 200-metres-per-minute. What's more, this innovative technology sets the Oc'e JetStream series apart from its competitors for best-in-class colour print quality, which surpasses conventional continuous inkjet technology.
"The JetStream series adapts to future workflows with plug-and-play simplicity. JetStream systems are based on the scalable Oc'e SRA MP controller, enabling high speed, uninterrupted workflow for AFP/IPDS data streams and full-colour digital printing, and the ability to grow to support future needs," Jones continues.
With the goal of further maximising integration, he points out that JetStream technology has been designed for full integration with Oc'e PRISMA workflows. "Oc'e JetStream technology is compatible with AFP/IPDS applications based on the latest standard of the AFP colour consortium - without requiring additional software or application changes," Jones adds. "Consistent, compatible and comprehensive, Oc'e PRISMA adaptive workflow management software is recognised by industry experts as one of the most open, tightly-integrated and comprehensive workflow solutions on the market."
Jones also notes that with Oc'e's PRISMA software, users can accept all types of incoming data streams and output documents to Oc'e and other devices, automating workflow while eliminating multi-vendor incompatibilities and redundancies.
"By combining Oc'e PRISMA workflow and its connectivity to other proven, front-end products, users can run Oc'e JetStream printers in any environment - without changing their workflow. As a result, the printers are ideal for high-speed, top-quality, digital colour printing requirements. With the JetStream platform, print professionals can offer new services, reduce costs and increase profitability," concludes Jones.
