Oc'e South Africa, Maizey Plastics join forces

Johannesburg, 03 Apr 2008

One of South Africa's leading distributors of display graphics printers, Oc'e South Africa, has joined forces with the country's largest distributor of semi-finished plastic materials to the digital and graphics industry, Maizey Plastics.

Oc'e South Africa's display graphics product manager Navin Jeewanlall explains: "The Arizona 250GT flatbed and roll-to-roll UV curable inkjet printer has generated a lot of interest in the marketplace. The printer is suitable for a wide range of applications on a large variety of materials. Europe is the primary source of the materials that have been tested and pre-approved for use with the Arizona 250GT by Oc'e's R&D centre in The Netherlands.

"It made perfect sense for us to collaborate with Maizey Plastics, a company that already distributes all of these materials into the South African graphics industry."

The national marketing manager for Maizey Plastics, Yolande Kruger, agrees: "We distribute a wide range of products including signage material and substrates and large format digital print media and substrates from a diverse range of European manufacturers."

Jeewanlall adds: "By encouraging our customers to utilise these products that have been approved by Oc'e, we can offer a warranty on the inks used in the Arizona 250GT."

Samples of images printed on a range of materials on the Arizona 250GT will be displayed in Maizey Plastics showrooms countrywide. One of Maizey's strengths lies in the fact that it has 19 branches and customers countrywide will be able to access their substrate requirements without experiencing machine downtime while they wait for their materials.

In turn, Oc'e customers will receive sample packs of the Maizey substrates so that they can familiarise themselves with the range and test it for themselves on their own Arizona 250GT printers.

Kruger says: "Most of the products that we import are highly suited for digital printing, shop-fitting displays and signage applications. Oc'e has the flatbed digital printing solution that is ideal for printing on this range of substrates. This collaboration between Maizey and Oc'e will allow our customers to get the greatest benefit from the capital investment that they make in a flatbed printer. We intend to embark on a marketing and sampling campaign that will allow customers to test our range of consumables on the Arizona 250GT to enable customers to realise the full potential of the extensive range of materials that is available through Maizey."

Jeewanlall concludes: "Consumables and printing systems go hand-in-hand and we hope that through this partnership with Maizey, we can grow the industry and expand applications for both the consumables and the Arizona 250GT."
