Oc'e South Africa is going extra large at this year`s Sign Africa, held from 16 to 18 August at the Sandton Convention Centre. The Oc'e stand features an impressive line-up, including the 3.3 metre roll-to-roll Jeti 3318, the 2.5 metre UV curable CS7100 and the 1.6 metre CS6060. Catering for both the display graphics and CAD markets, the stand also features the 1.1 metre CS2044. A Summacut precision vinyl cutter rounds off Oc'e`s offering.
The 3.3 metre Jeti 3318 belongs to Gandinnovations` Jeti range of grand-format solvent inkjet printers, which were released onto the South African market in 2005.
The Jeti 3318 has 18 Spectra print heads, in four-colour/six-colour combination and 300/600dpi resolution, with speeds varying from 48 square metres per hour to 90 square metres per hour. The system can print on a variety of substrates including reinforced vinyl, pressure-sensitive vinyl, canvas, fabric, mesh and paper. The solvent-based inks offer ultraviolet durability of up to three years unlaminated, depending on the environment in which the print is used.
The Oc'e CS7100 printer joins the popular Oc'e CS7000 Series of UV curable inkjet printers that can print onto either roll-based or rigid media. The Oc'e CS7100 prints up to 2.5 metres wide and comes with a newly developed heavy-duty roller table to support a wide range of rigid substrates up to a thickness of 12.7mm.
The Oc'e CS6060 printer is a 1.6 metre-wide high performance solvent inkjet system for professional display graphics applications. This high speed, high resolution printing system delivers high quality 720dpi graphics with outdoor durability up to three years. Designed and developed for the production of outdoor signs, banners and graphics, the Oc'e CS6060 is two- to five-times faster than other printers in its class.
Offering successful colour for CAD and graphics applications, the CS2044 promises crisp, clear line drawings and GIS plots plus brilliant colour renderings. Engineers, architects, cartographers and designers can achieve high-resolution 2 400 x 1 200dpi printing for clarity of even the smallest details.
The versatile Summa S class offers a range of cutters that can handle media from 6cm to 168cm in width with a choice between an affordable and efficient drag-knife cutting head (D Series) or a state-of-the-art True Tangential cutting head (T Series).
The product manager for Oc'e South Africa`s Display Graphics division, Wojciech Skrzeszewski, says: "We are seeing many exciting developments on the display graphics front. The recently released CS7100, which is being exhibited for the first time in South Africa, offers the flexibility of printing on either roll-based or rigid media, while Gandinnovations has just released a 5 metre UV roll-to-roll printer."
