Oc'e, the pioneer of innovative printing solutions, is unveiling the Oc'e VarioStream 6100, the successor to the popular Pagestream 88. The high-productivity continuous feed digital printer for midrange volumes processes a huge variety of media - foils, plastic cards, tags and other special-purpose media as well as conventional paper.
Thanks to the automatic resolution switching feature (240, 300 and 600 dpi), the Oc'e VarioStream 6100 adapts to just about any application. New for this market segment are the 600 dpi resolution and 100 A4 ppm speed
Compatibility guaranteed
The Oc'e VarioStream 6100 is a continuous feed printer with a short, straight paper path and no-contact flash fusing - which gives the machine its impressive versatility with media. The LED image generator, the ability to process 600dpi data streams, and a new range of consumables all combine to deliver superlative print quality. The system can also handle jobs with multiple input resolutions. The advantages are a measurable improvement in bar code readability (lines and Data Matrix) and the flexibility to handle applications that include graphics.
The new machine offers all the advantages of a continuous feed printer: fast, jam-free processing even with critical media, secured output integrity, plus optional connection of finishing equipment and pre-print modules (such as high capacity roll feeders). The automated feed makes loading and changing paper easy. With its 17-inch web width, the Oc'e VarioStream 6100 can handle low and medium-volume runs in all formats - for example A3 or A4 2-up.
The Oc'e VarioStream 6100 features the same advanced controller technology (SRA version 3) as the other Oc'e Vario systems, which assures compatibility across the range. This makes it easy to shift applications between printers, so the Oc'e VarioStream 6100 can serves as a proofing and backup system as well as a production printer.
Featuring Ethernet (TCP/IP), SCSI, ESCON and /370 interfaces, the Oc'e VarioStream 6100 easily integrates into system environments. Compact and super-silent, the printer delivers excellent performance with low power consumption.
The Oc'e Vario product family
The new Oc'e Vario product family comprises VarioPrint and VarioStream systems. "Vario" stands for variable input and output and emphasises the flexibility of the machines. The "VarioStream" product name designates Oc'e`s continuous feed printers (as opposed to VarioPrint for the cutsheet presses). All the systems are based on an open platform and can be driven by data streams from various sources, such as mainframes, minicomputers and client/server solutions. The Vario systems help people get their vital information on and off the information highway, both by accepting data from a variety of sources (variable input), and by putting this information onto paper or scanning it to file (variable output). Each system can be custom-configured with the user`s choice of processor, memory size, imaging quality and accessories. The Oc'e Vario product line-ups are a new unified platform combining the capabilities of the winning Pagestream (PoD) and Demandstream (transactional printing) families.
