International office automation supplier, Olivetti Lexikon, has returned to Mozambique and is currently recruiting new business partners to head up local dealerships.
Olivetti specialises in office products and communication and imaging devices for the business, SOHO and consumer markets and is a leader in the development of inkjet technology. As such, the soon to be appointed distributors will sell and service the group`s products, including inkjet and laser printers, faxes, copiers, traditional typewriters, electronic organisers, cash registers, POS equipment, and office accessories.
Olivetti South Africa country manager, Hennie Heymans, says that the Olivetti South Africa subsidiary`s growth, since the restructuring started in 1998, amounts to 56%.
"I have the utmost confidence that this unprecedented growth will continue. Part of our restructuring sees us being re-integrated into the Middle East, Eastern Europe and African regions, hence the move to actively pursue new strategic alliances in Mozambique," says Heymans.
"I believe Olivetti`s extensive product range is exceptionally well priced. The company`s long history in Africa, specifically South Africa, and the commitment of our Italian parent company, witnessed by the capital injection of $3-million which we received last year, all bode well for our success on the continent."
There are plans in the pipeline to launch a new product family to strengthen Olivetti`s operations in the consumer market, which will boost the company`s standing in this highly competitive market.
To assist dealers in servicing and maintaining its products, Olivetti has set up a call centre, which is manned by Olivetti-trained engineers for immediate on-line product servicing assistance.
"If necessary, engineers will be able to reach Olivetti locally or internationally for immediate e-mail or telephonic technical assistance, while still speaking to a client on the ShareCall line. This will ensure every avenue has been pursued before getting the product in for repair," says Heymans.
All Olivetti products have a one year carry-in warranty, however, where maintenance agreements are in place, the company in charge of the call centre will either collect, or service and repair products on-site. Olivetti operates in more than 70 countries worldwide through a direct organisation, a network of dealers, major retailers and mass merchandising chains.
