OKI Printing Solutions to support Microsoft`s new XML Page Specification

Announcement signals continued commitment to improving printing and document workflow for end-users
Johannesburg, 31 Jan 2006

OKI Printing Solutions has announced its commitment to support the forthcoming Microsoft XML Page Specification (XPS) printing and document workflow technology. XPS is a part of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, which is targeted for release in late 2006.

In addition to supporting XPS, OKI Printing Solutions will also support the newly announced Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) providing end-users with rapid workflow customisation of business processes and a powerful new platform to meet their unique business document requirements. The commitment to support XPS and WWF further exemplifies OKI Printing Solutions` focus on providing the best products, services and solutions to meet the needs of the end-user.

"XPS provides a rich, flexible and open platform upon which OKI Printing Solutions and our partners will build innovative and compelling solutions to further accelerate our growth in the colour printing industry," says Neil Rom, managing director of Oki Printing Solutions in South Africa.

"Furthermore, the ability to quickly design workflow solutions using standard Windows tools will make business process software more widely available, standardised and affordable. This will enable many innovative customer applications that will create opportunities for our multifunctional products (MFPs)."

OKI Printing Solutions is committed to investing in the XPS and WWF platforms to deliver the reliable and high performing printing solutions that its customers have come to expect.

OKI Printing Solutions will make the new Vista and XPS printing drivers available at the same time that Vista launches to the market.

"We intend to continue our investments in XPS and WWF to ensure that our printers and MFPs are ideally suited to be part of the document solutions that will be built by the Microsoft XPS developer community," Rom concludes.
