Selestia, the Old Mutual software development subsidiary, has received four UK industry awards for work it has done for developing the online solution for financial intermediaries in that country.
According to a press release from the insurance giant, Selestia is run off an IT platform developed in South Africa.
Selestia took first place at the Online Finance Awards for Best Fund Supermarket Site B2B, beating competitors in this category for the third year running.
It also won B2B Best Online Investment Site. In addition, at the Financial Adviser Service Awards, Selestia won a 5 Star award for investment providers and packages and the award for E-Commerce product of the year in the investment provider and packager category.
Brett Williams, Selestia chief executive says: "This is a great achievement and is a real testament to the hard work of the entire Selestia team. I would especially like to acknowledge that without the individuals and the team in Cape Town, these awards would not have been possible. People said it couldn`t work to have our IT development done in South Africa and they were wrong because it does and it will."
Since its launch in November 2001, Selestia has won twelve industry awards and has attracted assets under management of just under lb1.5 billion (R16.5 billion).
