Danish networking company, Olicom, has appointed Nick Muller to head its African subsidiary. Muller replaces Louis Appunn as Olicom Africa country manager with immediate effect. Appunn has left the company, with which he was associated for four years, to pursue private business interests. Muller says he will sharpen Olicom`s focus on its channel partnerships in a move to develop more end-to-end networking solutions for enterprises that are using modern Internet and intranet technologies. "Working with our partners, Olicom is able to deliver networking solutions that enable large corporations to build mission-critical networks and gain competitive business advantage using existing network infrastructures," adds Muller. Olicom`s range of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Token-Ring, Ethernet and Fast Ethernet products are designed to help companies meet the rapidly growing bandwidth demands of enterprise-wide intranets. Olicom specialises in switch-based solutions for mainframe-centric networks wherein high availability connectivity is a core requirement and protocols such as SNA and TCP/IP are used. Olicom products are distributed by Tarsus and Vantage through a nation-wide network of value-added resellers.
