OLX has unveiled an iOS app that lets users advertise, buy and sell on the online classified platform using their iPads or iPhones.
According to OLX SA country manager Paul Casarin, the app is universal, meaning users who have an iPad and an iPhone only need to download it once, and both device apps are updated at the same time.
Casarin says the app allows users to attach photos and videos taken with their iPads to their postings. He adds that they can also use the GPS function to views ads placed by businesses or individuals close to them.
Simon Berger-Perrin, VP of mobile at OLX, says the app is available for free from the Apple App Store. OLX also has applications for BlackBerry, Android and Nokia.
Speaking about the decision to release an app for iPad, Berger-Perrin said there are more than 55 million iPads in the world, representing 60% of the tablet market. "We are excited to release this new universal app to address the booming iPad market,” he says.
