Omtool has announced Fax Sr Express, a new version of its Fax Sr network fax server designed for small businesses, workgroups and remote offices in large organisations.
Fax Sr Express offers the most widely used features of Fax Sr, features native integration with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook e-mail systems and is designed to meet the needs of workgroups consisting of up to 250 users, priced by the number of users and fax modem ports. Companies can buy the number of users and modem ports they need initially, and upgrade later to expand their capacity.
"Omtool developed Fax Sr Express with the needs of small businesses in mind," says Dave Terespolsky, MD of local Omtool distributor Server Tools. "Small businesses need a simple, reliable fax solution for sending and receiving faxes to and from their desktops. The product should be easy to install, configure and manage, and it should be affordable."
Features
Ease of use: Complete native integration with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook e-mail systems and a Windows 32-bit desktop fax client application so users can send and receive faxes from the desktop. A subsequent version, available in the second quarter, will offer native integration with Lotus Notes and SMTP mail systems.
Ease of management: Microsoft Management Console (MMC)-based administration provides the ability to configure or reconfigure fax modems, monitor inbound and outbound fax queues, and add, delete or modify users and settings.
Ease of installation: It installs all NT platform and Fax Sr Express application components in a step-by-step process and auto-detects and configures fax modems.
