On-demand win for Microsoft partners

Johannesburg, 27 Mar 2008

Mimecast, the number one Software-Plus-Services Partner for Microsoft Exchange and Outlook, has announced today the newly achieved accreditation of Microsoft Gold - the highest level of accreditation for an independent software vendor - for advanced infrastructure and security solutions.

Mimecast Services for Microsoft Exchange, Outlook and Windows Mobile provide unified e-mail management encompassing e-mail security, continuity and archiving services for Microsoft customers and partners.

The software-as-a-service platform was designed by Mimecast from the ground up to offer an integrated and cohesive solution to help stop all e-mail disruptions. As there is no need for additional hardware or software, Mimecast also removes the complexity, cost and overhead associated with alternative on-premise solutions.

Peter Bauer, Mimecast CEO, comments: "Achieving Microsoft gold accreditation in six weeks reflects our commitment to the Microsoft e-mail platform and supports our channel partners who constantly look to find efficiencies and new best practice methods to better support their customers. We have a relentless dedication to providing a services infrastructure that integrates with Microsoft e-mail technologies and in doing so we help organisations of all sizes to protect their existing investment in Microsoft software."

Bauer continues: "We strongly believe that Mimecast plays an important part in the Microsoft software-plus-services strategy by delivering systems that integrate with Microsoft Exchange, Outlook and Windows Mobile. What this means to the customer is that any organisation can now afford to access an enterprise-level e-mail architecture without the cost and complexity of deploying in-house solutions."

Peter Alexander, Managing Director of Montal, a Mimecast accredited reseller partner, also believes his customers benefit greatly due to the close technology integration between Mimecast and Microsoft. "We have many customers across all industries and of all sizes. The one thing that they all have in common is their increasing reliance on e-mail as a business enabler but with that comes all the inherent issues associated with e-mail management. We work with our customers by helping them to find better and more cost-effective ways of applying technology while improving the service that they deliver to their staff. Working with Mimecast, we have been able to provide customers of all sizes with an affordable solution that gives them access to enterprise-level e-mail infrastructure for a pay-as-you-go price."

One of Montal's customers, Jacinta Ramkissoon, finance director of Pierhead Housing and Mimecast user, says: "Prior to Mimecast, we used a different product but found that the daily fight against junk and false positive e-mails was ever increasing. Since Mimecast went live, our IT team has received little or no complaints about spam e-mails. Furthermore, the administration time has been near zero and once the initial set-up was completed, very little further configuration was needed. We have used the Mimecast system to recover e-mails that we deleted in error, or to provide proof that a particular e-mail was sent externally or received internally. The time taken to do this has been minimal due to the simplicity of the interface."
