3Com has shipped one million 10/100 ports of its acclaimed SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 family in just seven months since the product`s global launch. This follows shortly after the company`s SuperStack 3 Switch 3300 product range hit the one million mark.
3Com`s Gold distribution partner Comztek has again contributed significantly to this success, actively increasing the switch`s visibility in SA.
Comments Siobhan Hanvey, 3Com product manager at Comztek: "The SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 is an attractive product range and a logical extension of the company`s hugely popular SuperStack 3300 family.
"At Comztek we`ve been aggressively promoting the range`s added functionality to local companies."
With the SuperStack 4400 companies can enjoy extended benefits such as building larger stacks. The switch also features resilient stacking, significantly increasing uptime.
"The SuperStack 4400 features Layer 4 switching which brings network-aware intelligence to the network," she says.
In addition, the switch allows for quality of service, enabling delay-sensitive traffic such as voice traffic to be transmitted with more ease.
As the SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 is also supported by 3Com`s free Network Supervisor - a network management tool - the switch is an even more viable and cost-effective option.
"3Com is committed to innovative product offerings that not only feature rich and reliable functionalities, but are also affordable - key in today`s tough economic climate."
"At Comztek, we believe this has contributed to 3Com`s growing penetration of the SA LAN switching market," concludes Hanvey.
3Com recently opened a Service and Technical Support Centre at the Comztek`s Midrand offices. The centre, the first of its kind in Africa, is run by Comztek and staffed with a full complement of qualified 3Com specialists.
