Online tracking solution released

A new labelling solution that allows manufacturers to meet and even exceed US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requirements for product tracking, and then manage the tracking data online, is now available from Avery Dennison, states eTaiwan News.

The solution, called Universal Track and Trace, consists of Avery Dennison printers, tag and label design software, and the D2Comm online data management tool.

"Universal Track and Trace requires no custom programming," says Michael Dancausse, Avery Dennison product manager, in-plant printing solutions. "It allows users to print and capture the specific label data that is mandated by CPSIA, and then add a unique serial number on the label that ties it to additional production data. And we can make all this available online."

IFS acquires MultiPlus Solutions

IFS, a global enterprise applications company, has signed an agreement with Qurius International Holding to purchase 100% of the shares of MultiPlus Solutions AS, says Albawaba.

The purchase price will be paid in cash. The acquisition will further strengthen IFS' market position with respect to project-based solutions (PBS) for targeted industry sectors.

MultiPlus Solutions, based in Sandefjord, Norway, and with sites in China and Denmark, is a well-established vendor of project-based business applications to the marine, EPCI and project industries. The company offers a complete ERP suite including functionality for areas such as finance, project control, maintenance, manufacturing, document management, and human resource management.

Shocking Tech signs on Sanmina

Shocking Technologies, a developer of next-generation embedded electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection solutions, has certified Sanmina-SCI, a global electronics manufacturing services company, to printed circuit boards (PCBs) with the Shocking Technologies embedded XStatic technology, reports Business Wire.

The certification allows Sanmina-SCI to manufacture PCBs that meet the industry-standard electrical, mechanical and reliability specifications in addition to providing superior ESD resistance and lower-system cost, the companies say.

“We've had a very productive collaboration with Shocking Technologies and we are looking forward to being the first to commercialise this exciting technology,” said George Dudnikov, senior vice-president and CTO for Sanmina-SCI's PCB and backplane divisions.
