Open Group delivers TOGAF 9

The Open Group, a vendor -and technology-neutral consortium, has delivered TOGAF 9, an enterprise architecture framework, says IT Director.

As part of the opening ceremony for TOGAF 9's arrival, a panel of experts examined the value and role of enterprise IT architecture in light of a dynamic business environment.

The panel also addressed how IT can better communicate and collaborate with the business interests around them.

MEGA presents EA Webinar

MEGA, a provider of enterprise architecture and business process analysis solutions, will present 'Demonstrate the value of enterprise architecture to your CXO in a down economy' in a live Webinar at 1pm EST on 26 February, reports Centre Daily.

According to the Web site, the difficult economic climate makes it challenging to garner executive support for technology initiatives. It adds that while EA may help companies save money, operate more efficiently, and gain new customers, not everyone understands the value of EA.

Daniel Hebda, vice-president of Technology for MEGA, will present this programme to help architects, analysts, and IT planners develop an effective strategy for communicating the value of EA within an organisation and to build support for the programme.

Hotel industry adopts EA

Standardisation of business and IT processes is increasing, many corporations are building enterprise architectures, and a number of industries have formed standards for sharing , states Computerworld.

However, the hotel industry will be the first to apply enterprise architecture concepts across an entire industry.

When completed, the industry architecture will describe nearly all the business processes, applications, data and technology required to operate a hotel or resort. Hotel Technology Next Generation, a global consortium of the industry's major stakeholders, is leading the effort.
