Open Text appoints Southern Africa channel (country) manager

Johannesburg, 28 Feb 2008

Open Text, the global leader in the provision of enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, today announced the appointment of Rob Shaw as Channel (Country) Manager for Southern Africa, based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, RSA.

Shaw joined Open Text from Datacentrix, where he was responsible for Open Text's Livelink solution offerings over the last 10 years, in his role as product marketing manager.

"My new remit is to manage the existing partner structure in Southern Africa and assist in developing the business of Open Text in this part of the world," commented Shaw.

"Having worked in South Africa for many years, I know that this new assignment is an exciting challenge; and I look forward to it. It must be remembered that Open Text is now the largest independent ECM vendor worldwide.

"With the incorporation of the IXOS archiving range a couple of years ago and Hummingbird in 2007, there are some customers in South Africa that may have been feeling a little neglected by Open Text," concluded Shaw. "Hopefully my appointment will enable us to allay any fears as to the seriousness of our commitment in this marketplace."

For further information, please contact Rob Shaw on telephone 083 626 3811 or e-mail rshaw@opentext.co.za.
