Open Text eyes smartphone market

Enterprise content management (ECM) software provider Open Text has released a content management platform targeted at the mobile workforce, reports TMCnet.

Open Text Everywhere is designed to make Open Text's ECM suite available through mobile devices, with a primary focus on BlackBerry smartphones.

Eugene Roman, chief technology officer at Open Text, notes: “The power of smartphones is only growing and they offer an entirely new platform to extend the productivity of workers in ways we never imagined just a few years ago.”

Enterprise prioritises Web CM

Web content management (WCM) has become a priority for enterprises as they look to integrate WCM with other business applications, states IT World Canada.

According to a Forrester Research report, 75% of respondents plan to increase their use and deployment of WCM as customer experience, brand consistency, and lead management tops the list of motivating factors.

Stephen Powers, Forrester principal analyst, says 48% of respondents want to see improved integration between WCM and software; which underscores the idea that companies no longer want to shovel content to the Web without logic.

WorldNow drives mobile strategy

WorldNow has rolled out a mobile content management system (CMS) that enables its to build and control mobile Web sites, says Broadcasting & Cable.

The company says the CMS drives greater consumer engagement and strong opportunities to monetise the mobile audience.

WorldNow senior VP, Doug Campbell, says the solution breaks away from a standard mobile template to one that users can shape to fit their needs: "As mobile continues to increase in importance to consumers and advertisers, our focus is to help our partners maximise revenue.”
