Open Text gets Vizible

Open Text, a provider of enterprise content management (ECM), has acquired Toronto-based Vizible, a privately held maker of media interface solutions, reports ECM Connection.

The addition of Vizible expands Open Text's fast-growing set of digital media solutions, which helps companies manage rich-media content such as video, audio, graphics and photography.

"Social media is driving demand for richer online experiences, including video and more engaging visual elements - there's greater demand for content owners to deliver these in order to set themselves apart," said Scott Bowen, president of Open Text's Digital Media Group.

Motorola unveils digital solution

Motorola has released its NBBS DOCSIS Remote Device Management Module that manages wired and wireless digital office devices, says FoxBusiness.

It is the first open management platform designed to support cable set tops and customer premise equipment from a range of manufacturers, and is designed to ensure a low total cost of ownership.

Alan Lefkof, corporate vice-president and GM of broadband home gateways and software, Motorola, says: "The need for remote management is critical to avoiding significant incremental support costs, while retaining customers. The NBBS platform offers operators an solution that addresses both cost reduction and customer churn by delivering increased levels of service."

ClearOne simplifies online payment

HD Conferencing solutions provider, ClearOne, has introduced a new Web-based customer service portal that allows distributors, dealers and end-customer to place product orders, check shipping status, print invoices and make payments online, says TMCNet.

The portal also includes an alert system which allows escalation alerts to be automatically sent to ClearOne management.

Joe Sorrentino, executive vice-president of worldwide sales at ClearOne, says: “ClearOneXpress can be used as a single point of contact to consolidate all transactions into one user-friendly and efficient interface”.
