Lava Systems Africa, an affinity partner of Canadian-based Open Text, today announced the latter has made its first direct investment in South Africa with the appointment of Peter Dimitriadis as Channel Director Africa, based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, RSA.
Dimitriadis has been with Hummingbird for the last nine years and most recently as its manager for Southern Europe, Middle East and the sub-Saharan Africa region. Open Text recently acquired Hummingbird.
"My new role is to manage the existing partner structure of Open Text in South Africa and develop the business of Open Text throughout the continent," commented Dimitriadis.
"Having worked previously in this part of the world, I know that this new assignment is an exciting challenge; and I look forward to it. After all, Open Text is now the largest ECM vendor worldwide."
