OpenText to present at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Africa 2013

OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the global leader in enterprise information management (EIM), today announced that, as one of the sponsors, it will have a major presence at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Africa 2013, which is being held in Cape Town from 16 to 18 September 2013. The overall theme of this year's conference is "Leading in a Digital World" and is expected to attract in excess of 1 500 delegates from across the African continent.

"In addition to our stand presence, Lenore Kerrigan, the sub-Saharan African Sales Director for OpenText and Marc Paczian, Manager Solution Consulting, will be presenting a paper entitled, 'Are you ready for POPI (Protection of Personal Information Act)?'" commented Detlev Legler, VP Enterprise Markets, of OpenText. "The session will provide answers as to how an enterprise information management strategy and approach can provide support in solving POPI issues. Questions such as 'how information about citizens gets into your company', 'how you can securely, while maintaining compliance, manage this information and answer requests in an efficient way?' are just a few of the topics that will be addressed. Different scenarios will take you through 'a day in the life of an employee and a citizen' and will demonstrate enterprise information management in action.

"Africa is an important sector for our future growth as well as being one of the fastest growing areas of the world from both a GDP and an ICT perspective," continued Legler. "This event provides a unique opportunity to raise our visibility in this market and capitalise on the success that we have already had on the continent.

"We have already been featured positively by various research organisations, including Gartner, with regard to our products and strategy," concluded Legler. "We expect this event to confirm, yet again, that we continue to deliver what users and enterprises need to underpin their strategies going forward."

The OpenText session is scheduled for day three, 18 September, at 9:15am.
