One year-old, NuNet Technologies (PTY) Ltd, a leading provider of professional information technology (IT) services in South Africa, continues its growth within the lucrative small to medium enterprise (SMME) sector.
Following from successes such as the management of the Local Area Network (LAN) and existing technological infrastructure for primary direct sales role-player Verimark, NuNet acquired several consulting and implementation contracts during 2000.
"Highlights include the development of a joint crisis operation centre for the Springs City Council which the company won on tender," says Marius Golden, NuNet`s business development and customer relations director.
"We set up all components necessary for the effective provision of e-services within the municipality and continue to monitor and support both the LAN and Wide Area network (WAN) for the project," adds Golden`s partner and operational director, Kirk Riley.
NuNet was also responsible for the development of a first phase LAN and WAN for the High Commission of Mozambique in South Africa, as well as the provision of tailor-made solutions to engineering consultancy, PD Naidoo & Associates.
Commenting on NuNet`s phenomenal accomplishments after just 12 months of operation, Golden and Riley affirm that the key lies in the company`s ability to ensure deliverables congruent with expectations. And this, they believe, comes directly from the team`s firm commitment to conducting business with extreme honesty and integrity.
"Our focus is not based on trying to sell someone something with little or no regard for their own unique set of needs, but rather on determining a solid foundation that will ensure the smooth and effective running of a client`s business," Golden confirms.
With the knowledge and expertise to provide solutions across environments ranging from Microsoft, SCO UNIX and Novell, through strong relationships built with these vendors and the likes of Hewlett Packard, Intel, Lucent, Cisco and more, NuNet is firmly positioned to supply the latest, best-of-breed technology to a given client.
Likewise, it collaborates with several specialist organizations in the areas of networking, business consulting and web development and design so as to fulfill the full spectrum of that client`s requirements.
But NuNet`s achievements and capacity are not reserved to the local market alone.
"Entry into the global arena has been afforded us through the company`s strategic alliance with US-based TeltecGlobal Inc, to form a new subsidiary TeltecGlobal South Africa Ltd," remarks Riley.
Teltec Global builds and licenses e-business and virtual education centres in emerging markets, most specifically in Africa, South-East Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. These provide state-of-the art telecommunication systems, operations and technologies to allow corporations and governments to participate in the closing of the digital divide in these countries.
" As the main supplier of technology services for TeltecGlobal worldwide, NuNet/TeltecGlobal South Africa is poised for invaluable international exposure and input that can only prove beneficial to existing clients at home.
"Similarly, the relationship between Teltec Global and NuNet sends an extremely positive message to both the South African and greater African markets as far as confidence and investment in the future is concerned," Golden concludes.
