Oracle SA has appointed JSE-listed CCH as its Preferred Certified Partner for data warehousing. The appointment has been made in acknowledgem ent of CCH`s depth of expertise, potential customer base and range of businesses which are complementary to Oracle, says Paulo Gomes, Oracle SA channel development manager.
"Our partnership with CCH takes Oracle`s data warehousing products into new customer segments," says Gomes. "CCH is a major player in the domains of e-business and customer relationship management (CRM). Our data warehousing offerings provide key input into both business areas, as well as other aspects of CCH`s business."
Allen Lewis, product management executive at CCH Enterprise Solutions, says CCH as a group already works with Oracle`s products in many respects, but the new relationship has been entered into as part of the group`s commitment to data warehousing as a core business focus.
"CRM cannot function effectively without data warehousing, as is being acknowledged by industry analysts around the world," says Lewis. "E-commerce is at its most effective when powered by data warehousing, and data warehousing is a key driver of knowledge management, balanced scorecard and many other business areas in which we participate. Oracle is the largest data warehousing vendor in the industry, making this a logical fit."
In addition, CCH Enterprise Solutions has some of the leading data warehousing skills and disciplines in the market, embracing data modelling and data warehouse design.
"This level of skill is vital for Oracle when appointing a Certified Partner," notes Gomes. "The 10 largest data warehouse sites in the world are powered by Oracle, all of them hosting more than a Terabyte of data. To design data warehouses of this magnitude requires a high level of skills, and the ability to marry business needs to technology capabilities. This approach helps our clients derive the return on investment they are seeking."
Oracle`s certification process is an assurance to customers that partners have a particular skills level, and that these skills are current, adds Gomes. "Our partners` skills are audited regularly, and the partnership is renewable annually."
