In this year`s DM Review 100, a reader-selected listing of the top vendors in the business intelligence industry, Oracle climbed to a No. 3 ranking from last year`s No. 4 position. The closest platform competitor and proponent of best of breed solutions, IBM, fell six places to No. 8. Furthermore, Intelligent Enterprise editors ranked Oracle No. 4, up from No. 6 last year, out of the 12 leading IT solutions providers on their annual "Intelligent Enterprise Dozen" list, based in large part on Oracle`s consolidation of business intelligence functionality into Oracle9i. Oracle`s climb towards the top is sending a clear message: Oracle is not just treading a new path for business intelligence, it`s charging the hill.
