Oracle extends its human resource localisation for SA

Oracle has announced further enhancements to the human resource management systems (HRMS) modules of its E-Business Suite (release 11i) designed to provide South African customers with additional country extensions.

In addition to SA, Oracle provides local extensions support to Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland and Korea as well as the US, UK, France and Japan. Further enhancements to self-service and time collection and management capabilities have also been announced.

"Since human resource business needs vary depending on the unique culture of each country and its reporting needs, these extensions expand the core functionality of the solution without departing from the single, consistent data and process architecture that Oracle provides," says Gerhard Stegmann, HRMS product manager at Oracle SA.

"Oracle`s HRMS solution will service South African customers` particular HR needs, but also give them the ability to integrate their systems with global partners," he adds.

As part of the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle HRMS leverages an open architecture and single data model, which enables companies to get a global view of their people operations.

Oracle HRMS maintains a global HR core, and a comprehensive set of HR, payroll and self-service capabilities that are available on a "go anywhere" basis. This means that customers can implement Oracle HRMS for multiple countries within a single instance.

The new release also adds global functionality for the Oracle Time & Labour module, with key benefits such as central time repository, web and disconnect time entry, automatic time card approvals, historical time card views, and absence tracking and reporting.

The solution eliminates redundant time entry for multiple applications and comes with pre-created templates that enable time entry for any segment of the workforce. Employees can submit time cards and review the approval status using a standard Web browser. Time cards can then be approved automatically or routed for approval using Oracle Workflow.

Oracle HRMS provides the centralised data repository for all people management activities throughout a business, from recruitment and career development, to deployment, compensation, training, performance assessment and business impact.
