Oracle hammers home its e-Business advantage with business intelligence components

Johannesburg, 09 Jun 2000

Oracle Corp, one the largest providers of e-business software in the world, has announced four new applications for analysing customer and business information for front-office operations.

The applications, which cover sales, marketing, call centre and customer analysis, are key components in Oracle`s integrated e-business vision versus the kit/point solution approach of single solutions vendors.

"We`re hammering home the advantage we`ve gained in this market over the past 12 months," says Glenn Lottering, CRM Business Development Manager.

"Where Oracle`s integrated suite approach has seen our e-business/ business grow by an average of 218% per quarter over the previous year to March 2000, the CRM market leader has only managed 80% with its kit solution approach," he says.

The new CRM/business performance intelligence applications have been designed to help arm knowledge workers in a company with a thorough understanding of its customers, partners, markets and operations to enable strategic business decisions.

More business intelligence applications are planned for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i as the company continues to meet its objective of delivering the only e-business suite able to provide all business functions based on a single schema and single customer model.

"This will allow for all transactions and customer interactions to be tracked and leveraged for improved decision-making, enhanced sales effectiveness, customer profitability and customer service," says Lottering.

The Oracle E-Business suite operates on single schema and single customer data model, providing companies with the ability to view and use detailed reports of integrated customer and business data, regardless of the type of transaction or the customer integration channel.

This approach allows employees within an organisation to view analytics relevant to their function, enabling more informed decision making and more profitable operations.

"The benefits of an integrated e-business suite that operates from a centralised data centre, with one customer model and one schema becomes very apparent when companies are looking to perform analytics and improve their business operations based on real-time data," he adds.

"With the Oracle E-Business suite, we`re giving companies the tools they need to make decisions that will impact top-line revenue growth, customer relationships and customer retention."

The four business intelligence applications are:

1.       Oracle Interaction Centre Intelligence - provides call centre performance measures, business activity and graphs including forecasting functionality needed to identify necessary number of agents.

2.       Oracle Marketing Intelligence - provides both a management overview and detailed analysis of marketing effectiveness, in such areas as list and campaign management, customer segment, lead management and channel management. Unique to Oracle Marketing Inelegance is the ability for a company to determine marketing leads that resulted in booked orders.

3.       Oracle Sales Intelligence - enables senior executives, sales managers and analysts to gain an enterprise view of revenue and sales performance to help meet quotas, assess current performance, analyse global lead positions and allocate skills by region and product.

4.       Oracle Customer Intelligence - allows companies to track key performance indicators such as acquisition, retention, loyalty and satisfaction at market segment and individual customer levels.
