More than 41 000 delegates gathered for the opening of Oracle OpenWorld 2010, at the Moscone Centre, in San Francisco, on Sunday.
Reflecting its acquisition of Sun Microsystems, Oracle OpenWorld and Oracle Develop are running concurrently with JavaOne.
“This year will highlight how Oracle is transforming the industry with a complete technology stack from applications to disk, engineered to work together, and will feature more than 1 800 sessions, 400 partner exhibits and nearly 400 Oracle demos,” says the company.
Keynotes kicked off on Sunday evening, with Ann Livermore, executive VP, HP Enterprise Business, presenting a keynote titled: “Transformation: from applications to the cloud.”
Following Livermore, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison discussed Oracle's latest innovations and shared his view on cloud computing.
Industry leaders from Oracle, Fujitsu, Dell, HP, Infosys and Intel will deliver keynotes throughout the conference. “This year's keynotes will feature insights into industry trends, the latest technology developments and innovations and key strategies for achieving new business trends,” says Oracle.
The company says the keynotes will feature thought leadership, technology sneak previews, and new-product demonstrations.
Technology's big names will reveal what is new and exciting in products and services, developments aimed at bringing more efficiency, agility, security and sustainability to organisations.
Oracle says the keynotes will also focus on business trends, and will assist companies to enhance their business processes and practices, as well as their products and services.
