Johannesburg, 15 Apr 2003

Oracle Corporation, the world`s largest enterprise software company, has announced the general availability of Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Version 9.0.4, an enterprise data integration tool that successfully manages data throughout the entire lifecycle of business intelligence applications.

"Praised by the Gartner Group for its increased functionality, greater ease of use and acknowledged as a low cost solution Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Version 9.0.4 promises faster and even more accurate analysis of business information,"says Oracle South Africa Business Intelligence product specialist Itayi Mandonga.

Some key features include:

* Use of the new OnLine Analytical Processing (OLAP) engine that resides in Oracle9i Database Release 2 to design and manage multi-dimensional objects

* Visual models and wizard-driven interfaces to graphically design end-to-end ETL processes including data warehouses, data marts and Operational data stores.

* Optimised for the Oracle(r) Database and uses it as its runtime engine, eliminating the need for a separate transformation or staging server.

NOTE: for more on features, see point 4 of the e-mail I forwarded to you earlier on.

"The latest version of Oracle 9i Warehouse Builder has several enhancements which make it a formidable player today," says Itayi Mandonga, Oracle South Africa pre-sales specialist. "Not least among them are its data integration support for disparate data sources mainframe and other database, runtime audit functions to ensure data quality and accuracy, and a user-friendly interface.

"This is a cost-effective and easy-to-use ETL solution that efficiently supports complex data warehouses and operational data stores," says Mandonga.

Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Version 9.0.4 is currently available on Linux, Sun Solaris and Windows platforms, and will be ported to other platforms soon.
