Oracle SA has appointed Marc Gower as country marketing director.
Formerly Oracle`s business development manager, Gower is a veteran of IBM SA. He brings a wealth of end-user and channel marketing, business development and sales experience to his new position.
Gower says his immediate objectives will be to better synchronise Oracle SA`s sales and marketing activities and to position Oracle`s suite of e-business solutions in a way that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities faced by South African organisations.
"My challenges will include educating South African organisations about the ways in which Oracle products can benefit their businesses.
"In addition, we are refocusing our offerings to better align them with the needs of vertical industries. This is a message we will be pushing aggressively into the South African market."
Gower says the approach Oracle will take to marketing will secure revenue targets through a set of structured end-user demand creation programmes. These programmes will directly benefit the channel partners that form Oracle`s route to market.
"My goal is to ensure that Oracle SA maintains its position as the premier provider of Internet technology and e-business applications," concludes Gower.
