Oracle SA names star partners

Johannesburg, 19 Nov 2002

Oracle South Africa has named its most successful partners for 2002. At its annual Partner Awards function Oracle presented trophies to a number of key IT industry players and personalities.

Oracle`s top partner in the independent software vendor (ISV) category is software developer, ITS. Its award stems from successes ITS has had with its Oracle-based solutions, said Oracle`s country channel manager, Jacqui Gogele.

In presenting the trophy to ITS technical services/Oracle sales manager, Zadrik Welthagen, she highlighted the fact that ITS has won business in more than 80% of the universities and technical colleges in SA and is now expanding its reach into sub-Saharan Africa, which should ensure greater Oracle exposure on the continent.

The Top Individual Sales Person award went to Richard Field of Siemens Business Services, who was rewarded for his leadership role in closing Oracle`s largest channel deal in 2002.

Siemens Business Services also featured in another prominent award: the Highest Technology Revenue achieved by an Oracle partner, which was awarded to sales technologist Johan Lamberts.

Other awards and recipients were:

Development Partner of the Year - Molepe

Oracle Champion - Ian Beaton, KPMG
Top Marketing - Martin Meltz, HP
Consistency Award - Cheryl Marx, Dimension Data
First Implementation of its Kind - Software Futures
