Oracle to differentiate CRM software

PC World reports.

Oracle CRM On Demand Release 20, which was unveiled last week, adds features for life sciences, financial services, insurance and automotive companies. But the core product has gotten plenty of upgrades as well, says Anthony Lye, senior VP of cloud applications .

“This is a very well-balanced release,” Lye says. “We've done a number of enhancements in things like account planning, assessment, basic customer model and the way we customers,” as well as marketing functions, he adds.

In the horizontal area, Oracle focused on improving accounting planning, the customer model and the application of analytics, CRM Buyer writes.

Improvement in account planning, for instance, was done with the view that every sales person not only is selling against corporate strategy but also is responsible for defining the account strategy, Lye says. “We wanted to round out account planning to track additional processes and information.”

In the industry-specific vertical area, besides life sciences, Oracle improved financial services, insurance and automotive.
