Oracle SA has announced its support for mobileObsession, an enterprise mobility application developed by an Oracle partner, iFactory.
Oracle says it will provide access to its product, technical and industry expertise to help iFactory deliver the solution to market, starting with the introduction of mobileObsession`s mbiz4Oracle application, which extends Oracle`s enterprise resource planning applications to mobile devices.
Oracle VP and country MD Nicky Sheridan says the initiative positions Oracle to bring leading South African technology developments to local and international markets.
"iFactory is black empowered, which, along with its technical expertise in the mobile industry, was key in our decision to partner with the company," says Sheridan.
Tony Forbes, CEO of iFactory, says: "Access to Oracle`s resources will enable us to accelerate our research and development efforts, while its global presence will assist us in extending our market reach."
Forbes says mbiz4Oracle is based on Oracle Application Server Wireless, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, and provides secure remote access to Oracle applications from converged wireless devices, including PocketPC, Blackberry, Nokia, Palm and Sony-Ericsson.
