Oracle to unveil Secure Enterprise Search 10g

Oracle will unveil Secure Enterprise Search 10g, a standalone search engine that enables customers to make critical business information available to authorised users while enforcing corporate policies, on 31 May.

"Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10g has built-in functionality that permits users to see only search results leading to information for which they have authorised access," writes the Gilbane Report.

Oracle claims that users can access the search engine through Web-based user interfaces and perform traditional keyword searches that provide results in a format similar to conventional Web searches, which helps minimise training and support costs.

OS CMS evaluated

Independent Computer Consultant Richard Callaby offers an overview of open source (OS) content management systems (CMS) on Daily India.

Callaby evaluates DotNetNuke, AXCMS.Net and other systems, including the requirements a user must meet to modify the source and customise systems.

"The main factors when adopting any OS CMS you should consider are how well is this system supported by the community and how often is this system updated by its core development team - even an open source system can have some hidden costs that must be considered before adoption into any business or enterprise," he advises.

CMS specially designed for e-learning

Link-lab will introduce a CMS specially designed for e-learning at the CeBIT 2006 Conference.

"It allows easy authoring and dynamic presentation of teaching modules. Taking the advantages of XML and the power of semantic Web technology, the software makes it possible to present and navigate on mobile devices," notes the Web site OpenPR.com.

The system claims to provide for variable, reusable information cells, context sensitive Web authoring, support of mathematical formulas, self exploring semantic learning networks, and adaptive management of interactions using semantic linking.
